Salutations! I'm Cristian.
I do AI policy research as a member of the AI Student Safety Team at Harvard. I recently completed a Winter Fellowship at the Centre for the Governance of AI. I received my MA and BA in Philosophy from the University of British Columbia in 2021.
I'm also a filmmaker. My short film Unperforming was recently in the festival circuit. I'm currently developing a feature about a citizen's assembly debating AI and the future of society.
I love mulling on utopias, sociology, anthropology, macroecon and game theory. In my spare time I enjoy photography, tinkering, bouldering, dancing as well as playing and building video games.

This is a short film/music video my writer friend Byran Pham and I co-wrote, based his original story. It tells of a gay man struggling to break free from an obsession over his image on social media. More info here.
It premiered at Dances With Films: LA in 2024 and is currently in the U.S. festival circuit. We'll be releasing and sharing it widely soon, as the PSA it was always intended to be.
